Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 May 2026

Bracket ("the app", "we") is published by Lumenly. This privacy policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and your choices. It is written in plain English by design.

What we collect

1. Location (while using the app)

Bracket asks for the "While Using" location permission so it can show you nearby courts on the map and so the ladder can find players within your radius. Your coordinates are sent to our backend: every court search sends your current position so we can return the courts near it, and opening a ladder ping stores the latitude and longitude you opened it at, so players who match your filter can find you. Ladder pings stay in our database after they close. If you set a home location, that is stored against your account too.

2. Match results and ratings

Match scores and your rating live in SwiftData on your device, and — if you are signed in — they are also sent to and stored on our servers, including your opponent's handle, the court, the scores, the ratings before and after, and any notes you write on the match. Your Glicko-2 rating is recalculated on our side, not on your phone. This is not iCloud: it is our database, and we can read it.

3. Court reports (crowdsourced)

If you submit "Open now / Closed / Busy" for a court, that report — including any free text you write in it — is sent to our backend so other players can see it. The report is stored against your account identifier, and that account also holds the email address Apple gave us, so the two are linked on our side even though other players only ever see your handle.

4. Sign in with Apple (optional)

If you choose to sign in, Apple shares an opaque user identifier and an email address — either your real one or an Apple private-relay address, depending on what you chose at the prompt. We receive that email address and we store it against your account. We never receive your Apple ID password. You can use the free finder without signing in.

5. Microphone (rally counter)

The rally counter uses the microphone to detect ball-impact sounds. Audio is processed live on-device and never recorded, stored, transmitted, or sent off the phone. Disable the rally counter at any time from the courtside screen.

6. Bracket Coach (AI)

If you ask the Bracket Coach a tactical question, your prompt is sent to our backend, which forwards it to a third-party large-language-model provider with no personally identifying information attached. The response is returned to your device and not retained on our side.

7. In-app purchases

If you buy Bracket Pro (monthly or yearly subscription), the transaction is processed by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment card or billing address. We do store the transaction's product identifier, its Apple transaction identifiers, its status and expiry date, and the decoded transaction record itself, against your account, so we can gate Pro features and react to renewals and refunds.

8. Diagnostics

If the app crashes, Apple may collect anonymous crash logs to send to us. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy and you control it in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements.

What we don't collect

Third-party providers

Bracket uses Cloudflare for backend hosting and a third-party large-language-model provider for the Bracket Coach feature. Prompts are forwarded with no personally identifying information attached and are not retained by us.

Children

Bracket is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/UK, Brazil, India, or California: under GDPR / LGPD / DPDP / CCPA, you have the right to know what data we hold about you and to request deletion. To request deletion of any court reports or ladder pings tied to your opaque user id, email support@keenshift.ai. Uninstalling Bracket removes all local data on your device.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in the app's "What's New" section before they take effect.
